About Me
Hello everyone!
My name is Merel. My nationality is Dutch - however I feel half Italian as I've lived in this beautiful country for many years. Since I've studied International Communications, I love to discover other cultures, places, and the way people communicate. Indeed, I've had several experiences abroad (Argentina, UK, France, Spain).
At the moment I'm staying in Mallorca and I would love to meet local people and catch up my Spanish. Also, I would love to know more about the local culture. I would describe myself as a kind, enthusiastic, open minded and flexible person who likes to meet new people and socialize.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I just started being on Couchsurfing. I think it's an awesome way of getting to know people and to learn about another culture. I get my positive energy of meeting new people, learning about new food, other habits, new places. Staying with a local will help me to discover these exciting things!
Interests
Travelling - As I said before, I love to discover new places, people and food.
Music - Without music life would be so boring! I sing, play a bit of ukulele and the acoustic guitar and love to go to music events.
Sports - I love playing ball sports: football, volleyball, tennis, hockey.
Photography - I am passionate about making pictures and looking at professional pictures. I still need to learn loads and am investing in a professional camera.
Animals - Dogs give me extremely positive energy!
Socializing - People are my drive..

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: I like all kind of music, going from classic rock, to pop, to blues, soul to R&B.
Movies: I prefer movies with a real life story. Movies that go deep. 'Into the wild', 'The last Samurai', 'Still Alice', 'Billy Elliot, etc. I also watch documentaries. However, I love comedy as well.
Books: I would love to read more.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The most amazing thing I've done is to go to Buenos Aires and live there for half a year. It has changed me completely as a person.
