About Me

Hello, I'm a true Dutchman born and raised. I love cheese and liquorice and I ride a bicycle all around the city.

Currently I'm living and working in the city of Rotterdam, where I rent a nice apartment that I intend to share with people looking for a friendly place from where they can explore the city.

I work during the week. Boring?... well, sometimes, but my job is actually kind of nice. Technical team work and 20% of the time I get to travel around the world. This way I visited Norway (beautiful!) for example and been to the US for the first time in my life.

In the weekend I do some chores, sports, visit the parents or friends and all sorts of stuff. I've always got some project going on that I spend time on.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

During my masters at Delft Technical University I got into a very colourful international surroundings and made lots of friends from all over the world that I still talk to. I would really like to meet new people from other countries and cultures now and then.

Sailing, history, technology, entrepreneurship, crossfit, sustainability

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Saxophone deep house! Oh yes. I bought a new speaker set just so to hear this music to its full potential. Sensational!

Movies: oh, too much to mention... but I've seen the "Boondock Saints" for the twentieth time or something a few weeks back. That's certainly one of my all time favourites.

Books: I'm currently reading up on Dutch literature. You know, all those books that you had to read in high school... but didn't. I'm reading them now. Amazing! Also bought some English top novels.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I made road trip from Rotterdam to Stavanger, Norway. I knew Germany already, so that was not so special. Denmark was interesting, but when we came on shore in Norway I was in total awe. What a stunningly beautiful country!

Teach, Learn, Share

"Just be yourself" is the worst advice you could give someone, because if you do what you did, you will get what you got. If you want different things out of life, try doing something else.

You don't agree? We can discuss it when you come over.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My spacious apartment and bathroom, cooking skills, washing machine, knowledge of the city to find all those nice little hidden spots and corners that you would have otherwise missed. My dynamically shaped couch of course, with washable covers and lots of cushions.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, England, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Norway, Slovakia, Spain, Switzerland, Tunisia, United States, Vatican City State

Countries I’ve Lived In

Netherlands
