We are an international couple who moved to Tartu around a year ago. Vincent is from Chicago, US and Merilin is from near Tallinn, Estonia.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We think that couchsurfing has lots more to offer than just staying alone in hostels, since you spend time there mostly with other foreigners.

The best way to get a feel of a city is from a local. Books and Google can get you only so far, but the locals...they know their stuff and can take you to places hidden away from the touristic eye.

Interests

We have a variety of different interests and we love to try out new things.

* Currently Vincent is doing an MMA course. Other than that he loves DnD and also DMs. He also loves cooking and a good bear. He is a proud cat dad and loves our cat Maiu more than anything in the world.

* Most of Merilin's time currently goes to doing her master's degree. Although when she does have free time, she likes to read and organize the next big event at our apartament. She loves Excel sheets, cats and board games.

We like chill evenings with some wine or beer and we regularly host board game nights at our home. We both also love Japan and all things surrounding it. Vince has also visited Japan once for a few weeks and it is definitely in the top travel destination for us both to go to as soon as it opens up again.

Music, Movies, and Books

We love Estonian music and going to concerts and of course watching weird movies.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

We love to learn about different cultures.

Vince has lived in three four countries so far - the homeland of USA, South-Africa, Nepal and Estonia.

Merilin did her European Solidarity Corps project in the Åland Islands and lived there for almost a year.

What I Can Share with Hosts

We can cook for you if you wish, show you around Tartu (or maybe Estonia, if we have a free weekend) if yoh come to visit us here :) and of course offer you our nice couch to stay on.
