About Me

CURRENT MISSION:
Become friends with at least one person in every country! Being able to visit my international friends from all around the world.

ABOUT ME:
My name is Melissa and currently a graduate student at the University of Washington. I was born in Seattle, but was raised in Hong Kong. On my spare time, I like to go on long jogs/bike rides, hike, bake, draw & paint, play with kids, travel, and find good places to eat!

I am silly most of the time. People laugh with me or laugh at me, but either way, I'm still putting a smile on their face. (:

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING:
My sister suggested this when we were doing the pilgrimage in Japan. I thought it was sketchy at first, but it turned out to be pretty cool. It's an awesome way to meet new friends!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE:
I couchsurfed in Tokyo, Kanonji, Marugame, Kyoto, and Takamatsu, while I was doing the Shikoku 88 Temple Pilgrimage. I also couchsurfed in Seoul and Barcelona. I had so much fun couchsurfing and hope to host some awesome travelers as well!

I hosted people who were from:
- Korea (2)
- Taiwan (1)
- USA (1)
- Malaysia (1)

My goal is to couchsurf in every country I travel to and host at least one person from every country!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Shikoku 88 Temple Pilgrimage.

Biking downhill on a sunny afternoon as the trees sway and a cool breeze blowing across your face. It's the most wonderful feeling in the world. Words cannot describe how great it feels.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love listening to other people's stories. I have learned so much through simple, yet significant interactions with the locals when I travel abroad.

And in return, I teach them something that I've learned from another person I've encountered.

What I Can Share with Hosts

The beginnings of a wonderful friendship.
