About Me

I'm a girl from the Netherlands, who (just like everyone else here, I know) loves to travel and meet new people. Although I've been outside of Europe as well, I love exploring Europe the most. I'm into politics and other serious business, but also often in for having fun, so don't worry about that. My ambition (at the moment, it changes quite often, but this one has been on for quite a long time now) is to become a journalist.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

The main reason I signed up is because I searched for a way to make traveling cheaper and in that way more fun, but I wouldn't be doing it if I didn't love to meet new people and learn how different their lives can be, which I find very inspiring. I find traveling so much more fun when you make memories with other people, instead of on your own.

Music, Movies, and Books

The music I listen mostly too is often indie and folk, or at least British, calm music, but there a lot of exceptions.

I mostly watch arthouse films, at the moment my favourite one is Her, but I also like Scandinavian thrillers (although I prefer watching them with someone else (I'm easily scared) and documentaries.

My favorite book is The discovery of heaven (De ontdekking van de hemel in Dutch) by the Dutch writer Harry Mulisch. I'll spare you my enthusiasm, because I could talk for hours about the 1000 pages containing book. I'd like to read other literature as well, but also journalistic books.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I gave a speech in the plenary room of the European Parliament.

Teach, Learn, Share

I think everyone can learn from each other. You don't have to agree on everything, but listening to other people with totally different lives can be inspiring and can give you new insights.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love to have conversations about life, politics and other related things, but if you're not into that, I'm also in for going out, I could tell you about my journey so far, but if I still haven't persuade you... I can cook as well!
