Hello!

I'm a (currently) 24 year old guy with a bachelor's degree in Computer Science. My hobbies and interests include reading, climbing, being in nature, travelling, music, socialising and many other things.

After graduating I did some work as a carpenter and am currently (slowly) looking for a job and taking it easy. I live in a big anti-squat office building in Eindhoven, so there is plenty of room for guests to stay over.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

If there is anything I like more than travelling, it's travelling cheaply! With the added bonus of meeting locals and being able to connect online, why wouldn't I be on Couchsurfing? Besides self interest, being able to be a good host to foreigners visiting my city/country is also a big motivation, as I know how much having a local host can help towards having a good experience in a foreign place!

Interests

Pretty self explanatory I suppose. I am quite a strict vegan though so expect plant based food when you are visiting me (at least the food we share).

Music, Movies, and Books

I have a quite diverse taste of music, if I say so myself, ranging from things like classic rock, reggae, funk and more modern rock/metal to downtempo (electronic) music such a triphop, dub and ambient. Some of my favourite artists are: Tool (I will never get bored listening to this), Shpongle/Hallucinogen (really anything even remotely related to Simon Postford), Emancipator, Panda Dub and really to many others to list them all.

I'm also an avid reader, possessing a seemingly never ending list of books I want to read in the foreseeable future. I've always mainly read fantasy and science fiction books, but also like more psychological novels a la Catcher in the Rye. My all time favourite series I recommend to anyone and everyone I meet and will never ever stop loving is The Dark Tower series by Stephen King. I can seriously not emphasize enough how amazing these books are, so do yourself a favour and make it a resolution to read them some time!

Movie wise I tend to enjoy darker, surreal, maybe somewhat disturbing movies the most. Things that make one think or offer a window into a part of society one would not encounter otherwise. Titles such a Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Trainspotting, Symbol, The Big Lebowski and Donny Darko come to mind, among many others.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I somehow managed to accept myself for who and what I am (for now), leading to a overal very content state of mind. Discovered the virtues of honesty, (self-)love and compassion.

Teach, Learn, Share

Many interests at the moment, but mainly trying to acquire some more programming and juggling skills. Also still very interested in cooking and coming up with new recipes.
