ABOUT ME

We met at University about 6 years ago- We were both living on campus and Merryn was starting her nursing degree and I was starting my Speech Pathology degree. We also lived together in the big smoke (Melbourne) but are country girls at heart after both growing up away from the city. We are both single and ready to mingle...and are each others best wingman!
We hate to cook but love to eat...don't expect a culinary delight unless you love McDonalds. We are experts at take away. So cooking may not be our forte but cleaning is our calling. We can definitely clean stuff and things. We are no strangers to hard work and are happy to help in any way we can, and entertain along the way!
More about our adventures- started in Turkey in April then went on to Greece and the Greek Islands, went through Albania and Montenegro to get to Croatia, then stayed in Croatia until Italy, France and Spain. We are organising work as Au Pairs in Madrid from 11th July for a month (maybe 5 weeks) before hitting up La Tomitina. We organised our UK working visas and have this option for later in the year when all our pennies have gone. This allows us to work for 2 years in the UK! YAY! Through that time though the main aim is to get more travel time and basically just earn money for adventures!

Interests

We are interested in travel (Who would have thunk it?), particularly the aspect of meeting people that are different to us and can challenge our way of thinking.
We do love to sit and watch movies with popcorn and even more so I love quoting movies in real life situations. But generally I find that more funny than the other people.
Merryn loves her arts and crafts and is nifty enough to make outfits (that I borrow). I felt like this was an area I could expand on and therefore starting glueing ticket stubs and maps into a book- that's called scrapbooking right??
Merryn enjoys volunteering and helping the younger generation, keeping them on the straight and narrow!

Music, Movies, and Books

Love going to the movies- probably a staple activity for us! Love a good romcom (how girly is that) and just ask me I'll proably quote the whole thing for you...Also big horror movie fans.
Merryn enjoys terrible music (aka Celine Dion) and I like the good stuff. I enjoy both Aussie music and International some of my favs are The Womabts, Florence and the Machine, Girl Talk, Phoenix...definitely could go on but we don't have all day. We aren't big readers so not too many books to mention but some of the books that seemed to have stayed in my mind are Desert Flower, Angelas Ashes, A Painted House and of course the Harry Potters (don't tell Merryn this is in the profile because she dislikes the Potter series- crazy cat right?!!)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The first thing that springs to mind is our Hot Air Balloon ride in Cappadocia, Turkey. The flight took us over undulating valleys of red rock like we had never seen before or could ever imagine from that view. To top it off the hundreds of colours through the sky of other hot air balloons rising at the same time was unbelievable (hence the hundreds of photos uploaded on our facebook page).
Our other awe-inspiring experience was skydiving in New Zealand- (it seems we like heights!) It was a moment that we will always remember for feeling insanely petrified, excited and exhilarated all at the same time.
We have also had a memorable moment with our feet touching the ground. In Santorini, Greece, we experienced a magical sunset after avoiding getting bashed into by donkeys on the way to the lookout. This moment was memorable for another reason as it was the moment Merryn launched her acting career by being scouted for a Greek fruit juice commercial (I'm sure you have seen it). Autograph anyone??
