Hey! My name is Mert. I'm a student from Turkey. In general I'm a calm and quiet person. I think anyone with good intentions can get along and peacefully spend some time with me. However, if you are a different kind of person, I can always try to keep up. I mean I listen to metal music, so don't worry I'm not always boringly calm and quiet :) I also think that I have a good sense of humour.

I like travelling. I have been abroad for Erasmus and I have visited England once but I would like to travel more. I would love to go to places like Iceland, Canada, Scandinavia... Let's say, I like cold and snowy places. I also would like to see big green landscapes. Good for taking a picture :)

My English wasn't good at first but then I improved it by watching TV series, playing video games and studying. I still need to improve it. I'm also planning to learn some language from the countries (I hope) I will visit.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I always wanted to be a traveller. Like people on TV shows, internet or movies. I'm planning to save up some money for tickets, visa etc. and then find some people who can host. Then the journey begins :)

Interests

I like music and playing electric guitar. I can't live without music. I also like comic books. I do some research about comic books and their stories sometimes and I really enjoy it.

I like watching TV series so much like: Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, Gotham, Fargo, Vikings, Westworld... They are also helpful for learning english.

And of course I love playing video games on PC/console. I like all things about computer and technology, I am good at most of them.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favourite music genre is metal (thrash, heavy, death etc.). But I also like Rock (progressive, hard etc.) and Blues.

I like movies about fantasy universes like The Lord of The Rings, Star Wars, Harry Potter, The Dark Knight... I also love the classics like The Godfather, Schindler's List, Pulp Fiction, Forrest Gump... of the time I watch action, fantasy and SciFi movies but I also watch crime-drama.

These are some of my favourite books: 1984 (George Orwell), Childhood-Boyhood-Youth (Tolstoy), Quantum (Cengiz Yalçın), Improbable (Adam Fawer).
