I've been blessed to have met amazing people from wildly varied backgrounds in every place that life has taken me- in my travels in India, Europe and South America, road trips around North America, and in my years living in DC, NYC and the bay area.

I have a deep interest in learning not only about the culture and history of the people I meet, but also about the passions and inspirations that color and shape their lives.

I'm also an intrepid adventurer. I love extended wilderness excursions, pushing outside of the comfort zone.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I travel a lot owing to my season work. I'm always excited to see more of the world and meet amazing people with whom I can share in experiences and excitement for this amazing life. I've also had great experiences and made amazing friendships through Couchsurfing and want to continue!

Interests

I love exploring cuisine, cooking, craft beverages, anything outdoors, music, poetry, dancing, singing, sharing stories, meeting new people on the road, trying new things, seeing new places through the eyes of the locals who I meet. While I love traveling alone I find that nearly every experience is so much richer when shared.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I was in my teens I found myself caught in a kayak in the midst of a deadly storm in the Pacific Northwest, hours away from shore in all directions. I nearly died but the experience forever changed my appreciation for life.

Teach, Learn, Share

I've worked as a professional wilderness guide and ski instructor, and I'm a rock climber in the warm off seasons. Happy to share knowledge and adventures.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I will lead with Persian cooking! If I have the time and ingredients necessary I'd love to share a couple of my grandmothers recipes.

I would love to hang out and get to know my hosts, exploring with them and sharing experiences whether that is just chilling in the house or going out into the area for an adventure. I love the idea of staying and and cooking a meal together or going out. I am by nature very social but if my hosts do not have time or desire to team up I am skilled at being as unobtrusive as possible and keeping busy- and clean.(skills I learned living in an Ashram a few years ago)

I also love helping out, so if you have a trade that you could use an extra hand with or some tasks you need done just let me know!

(dependent upon season/location) I am a certified ski instructor and happy to share skills if there is snow to be had. I'm also an avid rock climber and happy to ropegun you up some rock if there are any suitable routes (and i'm travelling with my gear).
