About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Fresh off a 2 year stint of teaching and backpacking abroad through South America and Europe, I am now rediscovering my place in this city which I have always called home, but never really lived in, while still keeping my vagabond spirit alive!

ABOUT ME

I love a good adventure. Of course traveling is the first love of my life, but food is a close second. Good thing they go so well together. Music and the outdoors are very important to me as well. I love going to festivals of all sorts, seeing local bands in dirty bars, and spending a day or more on a trail in the middle of nowhere.

I am a lifelong learner, curious about all things, especially history and culture. I like to ask a lot of questions. I have been known to get into philosophical debates in the corners of parties.

PHILOSOPHY

Yes.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I surfed all over Europe and had nothing but amazing experiences, meeting amazing people. Now that I am back in Seattle, I want to give back to this community which was such a huge reason that my travels were so memorable.

Interests

Theater, music, literature, cooking, eating, yoga, running, hiking, skiing, rock climbing, record collecting, beach lounging, good beer

If you are interested in seeing some live music, having delicious happy hour food and drinks, going to a park or beach (Seattle has plenty!), or exploring some of the beautiful nature Washington has to offer outside of the city (I do have a car), please send me a request! I know the area pretty well but still have lots of discovering to do myself. :)

Music, Movies, and Books

A very difficult category to delve into!
Live music is a huge passion of mine, I'm always seeking it out. I love psychedelic, experimental, and indie rock... Temples, Tame Impala, James Blake, Glass Animals, Beach House, Portugal the Man, Tune-Yards, Bon Iver, Modest Mouse, Kishi Bashi, Sufjan Stevens, Bright Eyes, Rilo Kiley, etc., etc., etc...

I also listen to a lot of old jazz, soul, funk, and motown. It's the best to sing and dance to while cooking. :)

I travel with my ukulele and play lots of covers from my favorite artists, so if being serenaded or having a jam session in the park or on the beach sounds fun to you, we will probably get along!

I am an avid reader. As a primarily solo traveler, my books can be my best friends. Some of my favorite authors are Haruki Murukami, Kurt Vonnegut, Ernest Hemingway, Isabelle Allende, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Tom Robbins, John Steineck, and Barbara Kingsolver.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Crossing a landslide on foot to get to the Amazon.
Delivering educational tools to the remote provinces of Cambodia.
Surviving 5 days of Carnaval in Baranquilla, Colombia; second only to Rio!

Teach, Learn, Share

One of my life goals is to be fluent in many langauges. If you speak French or Spanish I will probably prefer to converse in those languages as I am always looking for an excuse to practice them!

Also, if you're into cooking and want to share a recipe, let's tear it up in the kitchen. :)
