About Me

Hi, everyone!

I'm Anna and I would be happy to share my crazy stories about traveling with you. Have visited around 40 countries and have been living in Canada for two years and a half :)

PS Due to the fact that very often I receive friend requests from strangers, as well as messages from those who wants just become acquainted and chat, I have a big request, especially for guys :)) PLEASE, don't send me any messages just for having fun or for making a new friend 🙏 CS - is not a dating website: remember what it was invented for!) I also don't add people as friends if I do not know them personally. Sorry for that, but I am usually very busy and I am not really interested in making extra new friends just in Internet, I also don't have free time for the conversations, which are not related to the exact traveling. Love everybody and thanks for understanding) Have a good day! ^^

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Couchsurfing is an amazing platform to make your travels truly unique and not superficial. Communicating with the locals allows you to see life as it is - real and unvarnished. In my opinion, staying just in hotels and even in tents - you will not be able to get a 100% complete picture of where you are, only people can give you the full idea of the place, where you stay. And it is infinitely priceless!

Unfortunately, so many people use this platform just as an opportunity to find free housing for themselves and save their budget. What makes me really sad - when travellers literally exploit other people, using hosts' resources to save their own money, while not trying to give something in return. It seems to me unfair. Couchsurfing is primarily communication, the exchange of knowledge and experience. But it is not neccessary for you to pay with money - you can also thank the host with your positive energy, interesting stories, or you can offer to wash the dishes or, for example, prepare dinner - the choice is yours. But when someone just comes to visit and deals only with themselves - this is pretty selfish, in my opinion. Therefore, personally, I always try to find out from the host if he needs help in something, I ask if he wants to chat or, vice versa, to stay in silence. I respect those people who provide their accommodation to travelers and, of course, I want to be respected by as well) That will be fair and everyone would be happy :)

For me, couchsurfing is an opportunity to discover a new world, get to know it deeply, analyze the way of life in different cities and countries, meet interesting people and give them useful information and positive communication. I hope this project will please us for many more years!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I did many crazy things... but what is really important in our life? I think, it's what we do for other people. When I lived in Canada, I found out, that young people from Russian-speaking community didn'd contact to each other, most of them even didn't know about each other. So I decided to build up a little company. I started to invite different people to my house - just for playing board games, having tea together, playing guitar... and step by step they got used to it. But the most inspiring thing for me is what had happened after I left Canada. It turned out, that some boys and girls fell into love to each other and decided to marry! And now we have THREE happy families and two of them even brought children into this world! Isn't it a real miracle?) I think, it is :) And yes, probably, that's not a most interesting thing, which I did in my life, but it's what I really proud of and what makes me really happy! ^^

What I Can Share with Hosts

Hair... that will remain on your floor after me anyway: D Just kidding: D
I think, like almost everyone here, I can share travel experiences, as well as fun and sometimes crazy stories. Besides, If you need psychological support or if you are upset by something, I could gently listen to you and support or try cheer you up. Well, generally, I always try to lend a hand if somebody need it and if I have that possibility.
