About Me

***
WARNING!
This ain't Airbnb. I treat this as a way to meet people, spread knowledge, goofing around breaking into restricted areas, and in general making friends and seeing the world. If you're just looking for a place to crash and not at least humor me, probably not the best place.

That said if you're here for a night and gotta leave early, I understand. Just let's share a beer or tea time or something :-D

This is a friendlier face explaining it :-D

Beyond that...

Not much to say. I haven't been active too much in the past year although I want to. Time and stuff, you know?

Food is good, people are good, traveling is good. Except bad food and bad people. Those are bad.

My undergraduate was at Purdue University and while doing a study abroad in Turkey I was introduced couchsurfing as a way of meeting people, making friends, and learning about the culture from a slightly different angle.

Since graduation I've worked for a small contractor before a massive downsizing. Since then I've gotten a Masters in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Cincinnati.

I had an internship in Schwerin, MVP, Germany! I'm quite happy about it, yes. It was great!

I now work in Walla Walla, Washington. Woo!

My facebook is www.facebook.com/si.vis.amari.ama , and I will give my e-mail to you if you ask. I'm trying to make it easy to cyber-stalk me because I've had some poor experiences in the past. Plus either you or I are opening our home, we deserve to know each other as well as have multiple ways of communicating since this website has had issues in the past.

~~~~PHILOSOPHY~~~~
If you would be loved, love.
-Hecato
Use your time, don't let your time use you.
Love takes time, and time takes effort.
No one deserves Hell for eternity.
A person isn't defined by what they have done, but rather; what are they planning to do and what are they doing to achieve it?
Say what you mean and mean what you say.
Hayat beklemez!
If you're going through Hell, keep going.
-Winston Churchill
Above all nations is humanity.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Amazing thing seen? Old man playing with his grand daughter, I presume, in the snow in Istanbul.
They changed the question. Now I'm having an existential crisis, HAVE I DONE ANYTHING AMAZING? I jumped off a cliff into some water off the Turkish coast, scaring the crap out of my friend. That's not so much amazing as it is being a jerk.
I guess what's amazing is I've hitchhiked alone a cumulative 1000+ kilometers in Turkey. Basically all along the west coast, and then from Antakya in the south all the way up to Sinop in the north, (from Mediterranean Sea to Black Sea, then looped back to Istanbul.) All to prove a point.
Teach, Learn, Share
Never say something is on steroids.
Floss daily.
If the door is open and no sign is there to say no, why not go in?
When one door closes, another door opens. Or you can just open the door that just closed because that's how doors work.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Food? Jokes? Hugs? Gratitude? History Lessons? You tell me!
Countries I’ve Visited
Belgium, Cameroon, Canada, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Egypt, France, Italy, Luxembourg, Monaco, Netherlands, Turkey, United Kingdom, United States
