About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To try every possible type of bacon on the planet. What?

ABOUT ME

I am 27 years old, tall brunette with stunning brown eyes... wait this ISN'T a dating profile?? WHOOPS.

I'm a translator in a law firm in the Communications department. It's a great and challenging job. I also do sports radio and I'm a volunteer crisis counselor at the Montreal Sexual Assault Crisis Centre.

I think people would agree that I'm SUPER laidback and easy to get along with. I'm cool with whatever, most of the time, and I just like things to be simple and fun.

PHILOSOPHY

Oooohhh, excellent question. I guess I just want to make the most of the time I have while I'm alive. I'm a big believer in the Serenity Prayer. Change what you can and accept that sometimes, you just can't. Just do. Just be.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

For now, I am going to be a couchsurfer, first experiences will be in the next week.

I would love to show some people around Montreal! Unfortunately, as I live in a house with 3 other people, coordinating for couchsurfing would be a little difficult, but eventually I may be able to upgrade. I would love to, anyway.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have met some AMAZING people on CS. People with the same values, openness and passion for traveling as me. It's a neverending vat of awesome people is what CS is.

Interests

MMA, hockey, beer, wine, food (lactose intolerance be damned! I can work my way around it), music (I've dabbled in piano and accordion, and come from a family of musicians), biking (Montreal is a great city in which to bike, especially with Bixi!)

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm not a big movie person, but I absolutely adored the following movies: The Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile, Juno.

Music: A few favorites include Beirut, Lykke Li, Timber Timbre, Metric, City & Colour, Broken Bells, Robyn... really, I could go on forever.

Books: My all-time favorite book (in English) is The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time by Mark Haddon. Close second is Middlesex by Jeffrey Eugenides. Next is Me Talk Pretty One Day by David Sedaris. In French, my favorite book is On N'est Pas Sérieux Quand On A 17 Ans by Barbara Samson. Right now I'm reading La Canicule Des Pauvres by Jean-Simon Desrochers.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

- I've been skydiving and I have it on DVD. It still gives me chills, to this day, and I did it 7 years ago!

- I was 'discovered' in a pub and a month later was doing sports radio in Montreal 4 nights a week. That was pretty awesome.

- I decided to become a volunteer crisis counselor at the Montreal Sexual Assault Crisis Centre. It nourishes me. I wasn't a very judgmental person before, but I judge even less now. Understanding people's emotions, validating them, and helping someone recover a part of their dignity that was stolen from them... there are just no words to properly describe how simultaneously difficult, challenging, rewarding and wonderful it is.
