Overview
About Me
Hey!
I'm all about bicycles, good laughs and reflecting upon the world we live in. At least, that's the short version.
Adding a bit to that, I am a very open-minded person; curious and very talkative. I laugh easily, have a hard time saying no to challenges, and an unhealthily big interest in how our everyday language affects the way we understand the world we live in and act accordingly.
I would love to play more piano or read more books that I get to now.
One day I want to do a meditation retreat in Thailand.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
The reason I love to travel is to get away from my everyday and to get introduced to different ways of doing things, seeing things and experiencing things. So when I travel, I always try to get below the touristy surface. I want to talk to the people who live there and hear about their everyday. I want to hear them tell about their favorite breakfast, favorite coffee shop, how they hang out with friends.
I'm on Couchsurfing because I love to meet people and be reminded that there are so many ways of doing things. Unfortuneately I can't host anyone at the moment, and I don't get to travel and surf as much as I'd like. But I'm working very hard on changing that.
Interests
I love doing as much sport as possible. I bike everywhere I go, and oftentimes also go swimming, set out on my roller skates, go rock climbing or do yoga.
I want to read more books, hear more podcasts and play more music. One day…
- books
- politics
- traveling
- music
- piano
- outdoor activities
- hiking
- kayaking
- rock climbing
- history
- solo travel
- language
- biking
- roller skating

Music, Movies, and Books
When it comes to music I have a weakness for Mumford and Sons, and I think the Italian composer Ludovico Einaudi has created music that's perfect for studying (he did the soundtrack to "The Intouchables").
Movies with a twist in the ending excite me every time, for example "The 6th sense", "Inception" or "Shutter Island".
"Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance" is one of the best books I've read . It's well-written and has a really important message - and then it reminded me about mu own motorcycle adventure. I also liked Murakami's "1Q84".
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Two year ago I finished my study abroad in Seattle (USA) with renting a Harley Davidson and going down the west coast to San Fransisco – alone. I had absolutely no experience with riding a motorcycle but the 2200 kilometers I ended up driving were by far the most amazing and adventurous in my life!
One day I’ll have to buy a Harley myself and go again…
