About Me

CURRENT MISSION

develop and make friends

ABOUT ME

keen on meeting new people and discovering what it means to grow up in a different culture.

PHILOSOPHY

religious views: did you know there is a female God? (haha, I kind of liked this theory)

political views: liberal-leftist (but there is not only a wall to my left; so open to discussion)

Interests

languages!, skiing! snowboarding, a little bit of very unprofessional photography, theatre and film, a little bit of cooking (don't have my favourite dish, i'm open to new things; mostly vegetarian, with a tiny little exeption for real salami made of a donkey's butt... And certainly my chilli sin carne [or vegetarian chilli] is the best chilli in the world!)

Music, Movies, and Books

BOOKS: M. Vargas Llosa, B. Hrabal, some sentimental Remarque-stuff, Murakami (I guess I read quite many of his books, the one I hugely enjoyed is "Kafka on the shore", probably because there's Johnie Walker in it and I just love JD)... lately women in German exile (preparation for my thesis) so letters and diaries (I absolutely adore Erika Mann's optimism and strength and despise of her brother's cries)

MUSIC: good jazz with much space in it, if you know what i mean (Scandinavian or Polish: Możdżer, Wasilewski), or trip hop (air, goldfrapp, zero7, sneaker pimps)... or some interesting music with eastern influence... (buddha bar?)
somethimes music with umpf: I am X, james, Emilie Simon, Soundkail...
and I do like film music (music by Michal Lorenz, soundtracks like these from K-Pax, Finding Neverland, Last King of Scotland, Brokeback Mountain, The Hours...)

MOVIES: My favourite movie is Lost in translation, I guess. Also definitely sth very sad & bringing you to tears or sth helping you to re-think your life: mar adentro, breaking the waves; or some tale-like movies: the fall, pan's labyrinth; I also love old Polish films: Poszukiwana - Poszukiwany and that kind of stuff
I am also sorry to announce that I like musicals (sorry guys!).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Oh, how could I have forgotten about cliff-jumping in a river in Perthshire! It was just amazing. Very cold and I almost lost my watch but it was worth it!

Scotland in winter (anstruther, crails), Scotland in summer (isle of skye, perthshire, aberdeen), zip-sliding, canyoning, alpine skiing, sunrise over Warsaw, sunset over the Dolomites, my boss playing backpipe, my boss eating rice with his hands, my boss drinking at work, my boss burning newspapers in his tent and singing ambient songs from peru, my boss drinking 9 teas with 2,5 tbsp sugar a day (yes, you're right: this is not the same person) and my studies are kind of an extreme sport as well ;)
