About Me

Upfront: major holidays e.g. Easter and Christmas etc I will most likely be travelling myself and won't be able to host sorry.

Hi, I'm from Australia and I've been living in London since 2006, although 5 months of that I was living in Chicago, USA.

I believe I'm a friendly, outgoing, curious, energetic and open minded person. The glass is always half full in my book and there's always a silver lining. Everyone is created equal so if I'm able to host I welcome and accept everyone. I try not to give people labels; they are who they are and as long as they identify as human then I'll host them if I can.

I live a busy life style and I'm out and about more than I'm ever at home. If you want to stay I'd ask as far in advance as possible so there's more chance of me being available, and so I can possibly spend some time with you but I'm not here to babysit. If I can take you out I will but independent people are more my style. Please do not send me messages to be a friend unless you have intent on travelling to London as I don't have time for pen friend's on CS.

I enjoy trying nearly anything once and have recently taken up baking and cake decorating !! I enjoy the outdoors and walking, hiking, gym, movies, theatre, art exhibitions, baking and if I can find something a little quirky, kinky or queer I'm likely to be trying or investigating that too.

Please have the courtesy of reading my profile first and writing a decent message referencing the cow that I own.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm curious as I've heard about CS for a long time. I had my first couch surfing experience in Nov 2015 in Spain and it was a very positive experience.

When hosting I like meeting people who also love to explore, and sharing stories and experiences is part of that caring, sharing and learning which is something money cannot buy.

When I'm surfing I like to learn more about the place I'm visiting and the culture. It's more enlightening to learn about a place from the locals.

Please note, I do sometimes have difficulty accessing CS during the day so most of my responses will come in the evening.

Interests

Travel, sports, pilates & other exercises, travel, trying to experience anything and everything I can, movies, theatre, baking, cake decorating, exhibitions, dining at new places, and did I mention travel?

I've travelled to a lot of places but there are plenty more on my list to visit and plenty of other places I plan to see. I'm happiest when travelling, planning travels or talking travels.

If I can help someone travel somewhere or encourage someone I will do so as it's the best thing for not just learning about other countries and cultures but also about tolerance and acceptance.

Music, Movies, and Books

Favourite movies : The Usual Suspects, True Lies, The Gods Must Be Crazy, The Castle, The Sixth Sense

Books : The Power of One, April Fools Day, First They Killed My Father

I'll listen to most music, some will be dependent on my mood at the time so it can fluctuate quite a bit. I randomly search music on the internet and listen to all sorts while I'm working. Queen, David Bowie, ABBA, A-ha, AC/DC, Cold Chisel, Jimmy Barnes, INXS , Crowded House, Red Hot Chilli Peppers are amongst my faves to name just a few.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Visited all 7 continents.

Teach, Learn, Share

I could teach someone some cake decorating or pole dancing. I'm always looking for an excuse to decorate cakes.

Share information about London or the UK and even Australia, particularly Melbourne. Or share the experience of baking something.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Maybe the quirkier side of London? I won't ever visit a Starbucks, and McDonalds would only be in an absolute emergency, but the Big Red Pizza Bus or some other alternative place would be fun to show or guide someone to.
