About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Rediscover the world, but start from yourself..

ABOUT ME

Open minded guy with crazy ideas, trying to balance between the world of logic (computer engineering) and feelings (poetry, art, music). I am obsessed with languages, accents and alphabets. Finally, I love getting into the heart and mind of people through discussion.

PHILOSOPHY

* Life is a Marvellous Journey. Enjoy it.

http://www.tolstoytherapy.com/2012/11/life-as-journey-ithaca-by-constantine-p.html

* I grow older always being taught. (Solon)

* You can't change the world, but you can change your view for it.

* See the trees, don't miss the forest.

* Prison, Monastery, Cloister, Cave.
Let every situation, good or bad, be a cocoon of your mind, a chance to develop further.

* Gratitude. Acceptance. Desire. Act. Strive. Strive. Strive.

MISCELLANEOUS

* Sept. 2015: Did a 2.5 weeks vacation in south India, attended an original Tamil wedding of a good friend and visited many cities around. It was an amazing trip! India is definitely waiting for me to go back.

* Sept 2017: Already 3 years vegetarian. Seems to work just fine. I'm happy about it. I still eat fish (the next thing to refrain from) and dairy products.

* Getting more and more interest in cycling, just bought a road bike. Can't wait to ride it!

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: La vita e bella. Nuovo Cinema Paradiso. The Shawsunk Redemption. Inception. Classic greek comedies of the 50's and 60's.

Music: Mostly greek entechno/rock, but I also like classic rock, ethnic, blues, jazz, etc.

Books: Used to read a lot, novels and poetry. Later this ...degenerated in technical books.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I use to write "changing myself again and again". But now that I'm older and a bit more mature, I can correct it to "understanding myself just a bit more year by year". Nice (and hard) thing to do, makes one a bit happier.

Moving to world city of Hamburg on 2010 for the 2-year international master course and then staying for work is the most amazing experience of my life. Being with all those people from all around the world, getting to know Germany and german people, being stressed almost to death by university projects and then at work q-:, travelling a bit around Europe on the occasion, and many more (to go).

Many of the CSers I've met were really amazing people. They have taught me a lot and changed my perspective of life forever. Definitely same experience with the greek bookcrossing community.

Finally, one of the most amazing people I grew up with was my grandmother, who never complained in her life and never let go of her smile. May she rest in peace.

Update: Political and financial situation back in home country, Greece, has been such an amazingly sad mess. I hope, wish and (would like to) act for a better future of our people. )-,:

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you some modern or ancient greek! (This could be either fun or a nightmare for you q-:)

I like cooking and I do it a lot. I believe I am generally good at it. I can share many greek -and Mediterranean in general- recipes. I am a vegetarian, but I eat fish and dairy products.

*After* we have some drinks, I can try to teach you some greek dancing. This is usually fun!

I can also fix your computer or give you tips. (btw, when did you last time BACK UP your critical documents???)

~

I'm always improving my german. I enjoy practising my poor spanish, I'll never have time to learn more. q-:

I tried to learn Salsa and latin dancing a couple of times, but seems it is ...greek to me.

~

I can & want to share my loud laughter, my smile, my good mood and my positive energy.

~

Btw, if you do read all these, you can maximize your chances for getting a couch by a) having decent content in your profile, b) sending me a couch request (not just a simple message) and c) mentioning the word "penguin" in the body of it.
