About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Learn and love with abandon.
ABOUT ME
I love people from all walks of life and backgrounds. I live to travel, whether in the US or abroad, love to cook/bake, enjoy most kinds of music, and really enjoy going to live concerts. I like to be outdoors when the weather permits- running, bike riding, camping, gardening, canoeing, hiking, playing soccer, etc. If you like futbol I am passionate about this sport and watching games (though I don't follow any teams, just love the energy of it!) I also enjoy photography though I still have much to learn!
I‘m a storyteller and enjoy listening to others’ stories over a warm mug of coffee or glass of wine.
I'm looking forward to meeting people with similar and dissimilar interests who can teach me a new perspective or introduce me to different cultures. I'm also looking for travel buddies who are always ready for the next adventure!
PHILOSOPHY
Be radical. Love passionately. Do justice.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I returned home to KC in 2016 and bought my first home! It's my intention to welcome others with the same amazing hospitality I received when I was a nomad. The kindness of strangers (who often becomes friends) truly makes the world go 'round and I want to do my part! Also, my wanderlust is incurable and if I'm not traveling, I want to be around people who are!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I began hosting CSers in my apartment in Kansas City in 2010. I also participated in a CS group, practicing Spanish and having dinners with other community members.
In 2013 I quit my job to backpack for 14 months and was hosted all over the world! I've been lucky to share time with couch surfers in Ecuador, France, Mexico, Morocco, Sweden, Denmark, Spain, and even Ghana! I've also been hosted in the U.S. and became part of an incredible CS community in Nashville when I lived there.
Couch surfers are some of the most genuine, welcoming, interesting people. My travels would not be the same without this community!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The most amazing road trip I have taken in my life so far has been with a bunch of friends in a mini van to southern Mexico. We spent a week driving through several different states including Chiapas. Along the way we had some amazing adventures, stayed in a cabana in the jungle where I saw fire dancers perform for the first time, saw the ancient ruins of Palenque, got accosted by some Zapatistas (present day Mexican revolutionaries), ate some amazing mole poblano, and spent a couple hours playing frisbee with some of the local kids in San Ignacio. The adventures we shared during that one week will last a lifetime.
Teach, Learn, Share
I am a pretty decent baker and Spanish speaker. (I make really good homemade chocolate chip cookies ;) I'm also a good listener and enjoy encouraging people to pursue their dreams!
I would love to learn how to play the djembe and improve my French! Don't have a djembe yet but am dreaming of joining a drum circle some day. Pretty much eager to learn whatever someone is willing to teach!
