Overview
About Me
I'm living in NYC, working the 9-5 at an architecture firm while doing my thesis. It's fun, but my ideal lifestyle would be much more nomadic and spontaneous, much less scheduled and .. productive haha. So I'm trying to keep a balance. A good work ethic with as little monotony as possible.. new people/new places/new perspectives is the only way I know how to keep myself entertained :].
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've hosted and met a few foreign and domestic travelers, and every person I've met has made me more optimistic about the world and the people in it.
Interests
Wandering around/getting lost. Being in the city. Being out of the city. Hiking. Designing/thinking/observing. Architecture. Landscapes. Architectural landscapes. Everything about the Fall: pumpkin picking, corn mazes, leaf piles, hay rides. Talking to anyone with a different accent. Spontaneity! [I wish I could put that one in bold.] Lighting design. Urban Exploration. Exploration. Learning. Loud music. Laughing. Flailing. Beer. Tumbleweeds. Being on airplanes. The weather right before a storm. Doing things unconventionally.
Music, Movies, and Books
I don't frequently watch movies, but I listen to an absurd amount of music. A lot of bouncing around between different independent rock/pop/folk/synth-y electronic artists. It's where I get half of my inspiration.
And books? Architecture of Happiness. I can't recommend it enough. It takes architecture and relates it back to everything else: psychology, sociology, history, culture, art, music, your own identity, and all the things that make you feel like your life has meaning.. “As we write so we build: to keep a record of what matters to us.”
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Hiked Giewont during a thunderstorm, watched Prince Harry play a polo match, chased by police officers during a midnight scavenger hunt through Prague, in Dublin when Dublin won the All Ireland Finals, shook hands with Barack Obama, wore Lana Del Rey's hand me downs as a kid, drove from Philadelphia to Chicago after class one night.
