About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Travel, learn, eat, live. Not necessarily in that order.

ABOUT ME

I've been teaching English in Chile for about four months now, and I've loved every second of it! I've done a good bit of traveling around the U.S. and Europe, but this is my first time in South America so I'm trying to do and see as much as I can. I love to eat, travel, get lost in new places, meet people from different cultures, hang out with my dog, and eat (it's worth mentioning twice). I'm pretty laid back as both a person and a traveler, and I live for new experiences. I'm excited to see where this one takes me!

PHILOSOPHY

Life is too short for salads.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Surfer! Unfortunately I'm living with a host family, so I don't have a couch to offer, but I'd love to meet up for coffee or lunch if you're traveling through Talca.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've surfed a couple couches so far (though obviously not enough since I'm almost certain that that's not the correct lingo) and met some amazing people. Can't wait to meet some more!

Interests

Traveling, cooking, bad TV, trying new things, all the cheese, dogs (especially golden retrievers), long dinners, Italian food, hiking, card games, foreign grocery stores, occasional yoga, teaching, writing, volunteering, and probably some other things that I can't think of right now. Lists are hard!

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Literally anything, but I especially like listening to music in Spanish since it helps me practice my language skills, and frankly I can use all the help I can get

TV Shows: Game of Thrones (yassss!), Parks and Recreation, 30 Rock, The Mindy Project, LOST, Doctor Who, and some way nerdier ones that I'll tell you about after a few drinks.

Books: Anything by Junot Diaz or Gabriel Garcia Marquez, A Song of Fire and Ice series, The Geography of Bliss

Movies: Is it bad if I just say Disney?

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Las Fallas in Valencia, Spain. Craziest thing I've ever seen. If you don't know what it is, Google it right now. Crazy, right?

What I Can Share with Hosts

Hugs, curly hair maintenance tips, the perfect grilled cheese sandwich, and an eternity of gratitude.

Countries I’ve Visited

England, France, Hungary, Italy, Poland, Portugal

Countries I’ve Lived In

Chile, Spain, United States
