Overview
About Me
I am a linguist, amateur sailor and amateur naturalist.
I own Columbia 10.7 which I have mostly rebuilt myself.
I work at a startup in SF -- though now most people at the company work from home.
I lived in Turkey for 4 years, have been in the Bay Area for 4 years now. I spent time growing up in Chile and lived for many long (often tortuous) years in Muncie, Indiana.
I don't really like cars or car-centric culture. I like to travel by foot, bike, boat and public rail. I do fly sometimes.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Because staying in hotels is no fun, really.
Interests
I am hoping to develop my data-science skills since programming and data analysis is fun, challenging, and generally pays well.
I am an avid birdwatcher, I like learning to identify plants. Recently I have gotten interested in geology.
I fantasize about studying animal communication. Otospermophilus squirrels might be my first subject. Toothed whales, however represent a dream.
