About Me

I am a cook from Colombia. Recently graduated from culinary school (almost a year ago) and wanted to go outside my contry and get to now other cuisines. Worked as a stagier in Mexico City for three months and came to Norway to do the same. I love my contry and its food but believe it is important to now more about the world in order to open my mind towards different ideas and ways of facing life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Now that I came to Scandinavia wanted to visit different contries and get to now different cuisines. Im kind of short of money but still wanted to try, so this is a great way to do it. Plus, I may find more traditional and authentic food than going to the mainstream restaurants and food destinations

Music, Movies, and Books

Old school reggae (Bob Marley, Inner Circle, UB40), Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Pink Floyd...
Fighting Club, Nightcrawler
Love Gabriel García Márquez and Latin American Authors in general. Favorite books are El coronel no tiene quién le escriba, Cien años de Soledad, The Old Man and the Sea, Crime and Punishment.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I don't think I have had a real adventure (yet), but I guess living three months by myself in mexico, not knowing anyone at first, was a really great experience. Also coming this far from my contry, spending pretty much all my savings, in order to work at a really good restaurant, can be something to be proud of. Have travelled in Colombia with my uncle and my cousin, sleeping in a hammock at an indigenous person's house near the Sierra Nevada, and climbed to an amazing lagoon and camped at 4000m in the Cocuy National Park.
