Über mich
In '14, I finished a two year bike ride across Asia, where I visited 23 different countries and couchsurfed EVERYWHERE, sometimes using this site, sometimes by knocking on people's doors in the villages. I have a lot of paying it forward to do, and am excited to host awesome travelers at my home here in Denver.
I work in politics, but love to write, and am at my happiest climbing mountains. I guess I'm on this site because I love meeting people from different walks of live who have cool new ideas to share, and because I'm always happy to help out travelers.
Staying at my place:
Please use the word "rainbow" in your request.
If you're a climber and want to hit some crags, please let me know (especially if you lead at the 5.10 level or above). There's little I love more and I am likely to host you.
If you only get a "no" response from me, without an explanation, my apologies in advance. I receive a lot of requests, and it can be difficult to address each of them in turn.
Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've crashed on couches all over the world, and I started to use this website in March 2012. We had amazing experiences couchsurfing east from Paris towards Shanghai!
Now I host as a way to pay it forward, and because I love the people I meet through this website.
The coolest experience by far was in San Blas, Panama. I got sleep in a palm frond hut on a island you could walk around in five minutes. When the fisherman when out for the day, myself and my travel buddy literally had our own private paradise!
Interessen
I love telling stories, mainly through writing. I'm getting pretty good at photography now, so I'm going to start telling them that way as well.
I'm also a huge aficionado of all things endurance sports, especially running. Until I got on this bike, running was as much a part of my life as eating and sleeping, and I've run marathons across the United states.
Finally, a huge fan of electronica: everything from dubstep to minimal to trance, depending on my mood.

Musik, Filme und Bücher
My favorite author is John Steinbeck.
Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe
I worked on a tallship for three months, sailing the waters of the Mediterranean, Aegean, and Black Seas. Spent hours each day climbing masts, setting sails, repairing ropes, and chipping paint.
Probably one of the most breathtaking experiences I have ever had was being on top of the fore royal, 120 feel above the water, coming into the port of istanbul at sunset just as the fifteen mosques that surrounded me started singing their prayers. It was quite the sensory cocktail.
Lehren, lernen, teilen
I have no idea what to right in this box. Let's just start a good conversation and we'll figure out what we have to learn from each other.
