Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

Because I'm looking for adventure! I believe in the premise of Couchsurfing, and I like its premise better than, say, AirBNB. The vibe here is about interaction, and I like to think of hosts not as a free hostel but someone to mutually benefit from and grow with for the few days you are surfing. Now is the right time for me to travel and meet new folks, and I think I'm in the right place to do that.

One day I'll be stable enough to host people, but until that happens, I'm just surfing.

Intereses

I am an ethical vegan, and I'm interested in ethics and compassion as well as the nutritional and environmental angles of the movement. Veganism doesn't require learning to cook but it certainly makes it easier, so I have adapted to that.

I am very political and have been involved in multiple campaigns.

I love languages, although I am only slowly learning.

I hope to be a secondary teacher.

Música, películas y libros

I am in love with the Ace Ventura movies and the Austin Powers trilogy. Other favourites include Romeo and Juliet (1996 version), Forrest Gump, Zombieland, and, of course, Star Wars.

East of Eden is no doubt my favourite book, and its message of "Timshel" impacted me greatly. Other favourites include How Not to Die, Kiss of the Fur Queen, and J.M. Coetzee's "Disgrace"

Algo increíble que he hecho

I guess amazing is relative. I have thought at different times that campaigning was amazing, school was amazing, and even the small things in my travels have been amazing. I guess I would pick my road trip with 2 of my very best friends from Victoria, Canada to Mexico City (and they went back) in a $900 minivan. Those were the kinds of times you just can't recreate.

Vegan recipes (I can somewhat cook), a great smile, the few stories I have, book recommendations, chats in 3 languages... Materially I find that hosts like consumables, so I gift wine or whatever strikes their fancy.
