Why I’m on Couchsurfing

New to Couchsurfing, but I'm on here because me and my travel buddy (on the right in my profile picture) are looking to experience the places we're visiting with a little local help. Hoping for some advice on great eats and places to see, plus a couch to crash on. Also keen to share some nice drinks and make new friends. It's all about learning new things for us, as this is our first big trip abroad!

Interests

I'm currently studying History and International Relations at University so love a good conversation about either.
Favorite way to spend time is reading, but I also love heading out with friends, particularly to some of the great gigs in Melbourne. Passion for cosmetics and makeup artistry.
I also spend way too much time fussing over my two cats.

Music, Movies, and Books

My music taste is pretty eclectic, so I'm open to try anything. Do have a weakness for Bowie and Folk Music though.
Favorite movies would be Lord of the Rings trilogy and V for Vendetta. Also a big Studio Ghibli fan.
Too many books to list, but my favorite read recently was Shakespeare's the Tempest. Looking for any good book recommendations people want to offer :)
