ABOUT ME

i want to study architecture. create efficient housing. i want to study elephants and buddhism. hinduism. i want to be a fashion designer, i think i've always had the eye. i want to harbor and direct the power in my eyes. i want to know why places matter so much and why we ignore them and why we ignore foreign policy. how media blinds us. what it's like to run a refugee camp. i want an orphanage. i want to read faster and i want to act instead of always reading. i want to stay up for four hours and sleep twenty minutes. four hours, twenty minutes, four hours, twenty minutes. like ghandi. i want to make my own teas and start a teahouse in the cloud forests of costa rica. create an ambience of relaxation. photograph people nude in landscapes. i want beautiful, random encounters with people. i want to give myself completley to someone. again. at least for a little while. i want someone to fall with me too. i want to be sure to always be as compassionate as i am. to empathize. to open myself to the world's pain. to take it in and cry, and sob. to feel invigorated with it so i am always doing something to change it. i want to be warm and close to people. to touch people. their hands and their shoulders. to hug them. to help them. to need them.

PHILOSOPHY

I believe that compassion is thoroughly lacking in this world. If a philosophy can be held in one word, compassion is mine.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am moving to Sonoma County, California. I don't have a place yet, but I definitely will be happy to host when I do!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My roommates were couchsurfers for a bit, and so we hosted a few people. My first (and thus far only) experience was fantastic in Portland, Maine.

Interests

I am obviously quite interested in Latin America. Also, however, I am fascinated by all international issues, particularly related to U.S. foreign policy (what isn't internationally?). I also love learning. I am trying to learn to play the fiddle (I have just begun), I am interested in architecture and design created from recycled materials or what we may consider garbage, I am having my go at gardening this season. I am also interested in working against practices contributing to global warming.
