ABOUT ME

I have spent the last 10 years or so working in non-profits doing my best at whatever I'm doing and otherwise playfully enjoying muppet like festive/creative/insane keep-me-sane moments. I love to work. I love to play.

I genuinely care about people, community and a quality of life. I try to incorporate this into my activities so many of my leisure activities include some level of community involvement. Lately, I have been on a physical kick and find myself doing interesting activities every week night.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have had numerous couch surfers over the years. From time to time I surf about. I am a firm believer that doing the dishes is an easy way to contribute in a new environment. :)

Interests

I love tea, tunes, and tutus. I also very much enjoy soup, roller skates, hula hooping, polka dots and stripes.

I am a teacher and am interested in and driven by ideas/ action related to education as a means for empowerment and equity.

My favsBooks of the past: The Master and Margarita, The Ground Beneath Her Feet, Island, Their Eyes Were Watching God, recently read American Gods and loved itI really enjoy graphic novels...especially Alan MooreMusic: ranges from organic world beat glitch, psybient, most anything with accordion, most anything with BASS, psytrance, dub, love the dark minimal techno, BReAks, fado, funk, some punk, southern styles, jam bands without vocals, acid jazz, regular jazz, blues, classical, and on and on... i love music!Food: yummm mostly vegetarian, like the wild meats, love healthy scrumptious intention filled treats and of course the occasional greasy fatty salty :)

Teach, Learn, Share

I want to learn more about roller skating, falling, wild crafting and wild mushrooms in specific.

I am an experienced organizer and have worked on a wide range of community events spanning several years and in a variety of locales. I have lived and worked in reserves in Ontario and Saskatchewan and can share heaps about my experiences.

I am fairly talented with a hula hoop and would love to share in some circus play with any manipulative. I have some experience making fire toys and would love to develop this as well.
