About Me
CURRENT MISSION
enjoying scandinavian summer
ABOUT ME
I am attracted by places of conflict or controversy. I can't explain why.
I'm opinionated on a few topics though a bit afraid of ideologies. Passionate when it gets personal. Interested in issues relating to migration, refugees, human rights, health inequalities, gender and more.
I love to read, and I love libraries and book stores. I love stunning landscapes: high mountains and open waters. Swedish apples is my favourite fruit (and that's about as nationalistic I get).
I like to have a meaning or pursuit with what I do. I put pride in being independent, makes life a bit lonely sometimes.
I realise all sentences above start with "I", while I try to come off as altruistic. I guess I'm contradictive like people in general.
PHILOSOPHY
The opposite of love is not hate, it is indifference.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Expanding my comfort zone: feeling like home in new places
I feel suffocated travelling in big groups, personal meetings is what I apprechiate about CS.
I'm no sight-seer when I travel. Everyday life in a new place, that's what I enjoy. Getting lost walking/biking in a new city, grocery shopping, people watching, late night-talking, are some things I enjoy doing in new places.
I travel to meet people and to live for a short while in another place, that's why CS appeals to me!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I surfed and met CSers in Palestine and Israel, surfed in northern norway, and I met many cool CSers while I was living in Oslo. Have hosted a little, find it difficult to include CS in my normal Stockholm-life.. Sadly.
Interests
Regularly (I'm a creature of habit): running, cooking, baking bread, reading, hiking, sailing, skiing, NGO-work, recently I have started knitting
Occassionally: rock climbing, yoga. I used to be a scuba diver until I had an episode of DCS.
What I'd love to say were my interests, but I'm not there yet (or maybe in another life?): piano playing, drawing, photography, telemark skiing, singing, languages, journalism, blogging, public health research, hitch hiking with a tent, marathons, writing

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Picking fresh figs straight from the trees in Palestine.
I love bus rides, one of few situations I don't get stressed about doing nothing. Bus ride from Narvik to Svolvaer was unreal.

Teach: I can explain the pathophysiology behind all wierd diseases your family and friends have. Please stop me if I'm getting too excited.
Learn: I would be thrilled if you could show me how to cook a new dish or introduce me to some new music.
