About Me

ABOUT ME

At times I have a very dry sense of humour yet can enjoy being silly, especially when out partying. Probably not one for the faint-hearted but even the meekest of people come to love me after a while ;-p

I'll try just about anything once, but am very picky about any long-term activity. Have always been very independent, which means that although I am incredibly sociable, I'm just as happy wandering alone listening to music/reading/watching a film.

I got the travel bug at a very young age and started traveling alone when I was 15. Ever since I made it a point that all my life style choices were compatible with traveling.

I've worked as a print reporter and now work as a freelance journalist in order to be more flexible with my commitments. Have dabbled in audiovisual stuff and photography - not particularly good at either but I enjoyed it. Will be studying for a post-grad in Septembr in London.

PHILOSOPHY

I take my interests - but not myself seriously, life's too short. Play is just as important as work and if the two can be combined - even better.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Still exploring cs .... but will host people who'd like to visit Malta.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Hosted several friends and friends-of-friends but am new to the CS experience.

Interests

politics, music, art, cinema, literature, kitsch, fashion & design, cooking, history, clubbing, live music, africa, middle east and north africa.

During the day I probably spend most of my time discussing and reading about current affairs, but I'm not the self-righteous activist trying to convert people to my cause... I'm more interested in understanding the world around me and what makes people tick.

I take my leisure time just as seriously as my "cerebral" interests and spend my weekends at gigs & clubs till the early hours of the morning.

Was lucky enough to view a Frieda Kahlo exhibition in London.
Observations I made during my travels in Africa inspired a research paper and eventually my dissertation.
Accidentally bumped into a Belgian friend I had gotten to know in Senegal at a market in Brussels.
Fell in love with North Africa in Egypt.
