About Me

I'm a Pacific Northwest native, working my way through the cheese, chocolate, and coffee of the world. I'm constantly seeking out new experiences, places, and people, especially if it includes food, hiking, or jumping in some water.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I like to experience places through the people that actually live there!

Interests

Reading, hiking, swimming, running, hammock-swinging, porch-sitting, music listening, and cooking awesome food with awesome people.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: My musical taste is all over the place and constantly changing. I like music that makes me feel something.
Movies: Stranger than Fiction, Say Anything, Beginners, Apollo 13, Almost Famous, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.
Books: The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay, Let Me Stand Alone, A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, Into the Wild, The Boys in the Boat, Calvin and Hobbes, Tiny Beautiful Things, anything by Bill Bryson, and, of course, Harry Potter.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've been living on the Big Island of Hawaii for the past year and a half and my experiences here have been incredible - from jumping off the southernmost point of the US to releasing sea turtles into the ocean for the first time to hiking through valleys to secret waterfalls to listening to whales sing while I camped by the ocean - it's been the biggest adventure of my life.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am a wealth of random information about fairly insignificant things. Do you know how bananas grow or how the Columbia River Gorge was formed? I can tell you. And I want to learn everything about anything.

What I Can Share with Hosts

If you host me, I will likely provide chocolate, cheese, coffee, or beer. I'm also very clean and tidy and I will make sure to leave your home better than I found it.
