Hello all, my name is Micaela, I'm an actress and contemporary dancer from Brazil. I studied theater in the university there, until I got a scholarship to study contemporary dance in Ireland in 2020. I was going to start my travelling adventures back then when covid came and it didn't happen. So now I'm wishing to travel a lot during this summer, to find myself in different ways, connect with different people, share with artists from different places and cultures!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I first discovered Couchsurfing when I was in Brazil travelling with a good friend of mine. She explained to me the concept of it and I found it an amazing way of supporting travelers and connecting with other people that are passionate and open about life!

When I got my scholarship to go to Ireland I was very lost and I didn't have much money, so I decided to try Couchsurfing on my own. I was very happy I did that, I had great experiences and it made a big difference for me to have this in the beginning of my journey!

After that, I did a very special 7 days hiking in Italy. There we passed through small cities, and were hosted by residents that were supporting the pilgrim community, getting to know them and also the other travelers. I felt I was experiencing the culture in deeper way, listening to all the stories, sleeping inside a church... And it made even more sense to me to always seek this kind of exchange with locals and other travelers!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I will be happy to share some of my movement experience, or some theatrical games and exercises.. Usually I bring my ukulele with me when travelling so I'm happy to also share what I know, sing and play together!
Apart from that, I can cook some great Brazilian dishes, specially deserts if you are into it!! And of course I like to have conversations about everything, and we can share our stories and experiences!
