About Me
CURRENT MISSION
I was recently laid off from my job so have decided to travel the country for a few months from Oklahoma to Alaska and back!
ABOUT ME
I am 26 years old, raised in small town Oklahoma, went to college at the University of Oklahoma for Aviation Management and Pilot's license so I could travel the world. Life happened and I got a really good job in Oklahoma City so I stayed after college, but was recently laid off due to government budget cuts so I took the opportunity to travel. I have always wanted to visit Alaska, especially to fly there, so I packed up my car and drove the Al-Can and took a summer job as a waitress at a lodge. This summer has been amazing and the people I have met along the way have inspired me to keep traveling, and to try couchsurfing! So I am traveling back down the coast to end up in OK for the holidays and then go again from there.
PHILOSOPHY
I believe love and respect are the most important things in life. I am learning about myself everyday and I am trying to find new inspiration in people and places. I love learning about other people, culture, history, religion, and anything that is different from my own experience.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I am looking to meet interesting and fun people along my travels that inspire me to be a better person, to go more places, and to return the favor when I can :)
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have only couch surfed once so far, with my friend Harley who introduced me to couchsurfing. We stayed with Sally O in Homer, AK and I don't think I could have had a better person to start with! She was incredibly inspiring, friendly, welcoming and encouraging. I hope to meet more amazing people like her.

Music, Movies, and Books
I don't watch a lot of tv or movies but love anything that makes me laugh, learn, love, or cry, a typical girl haha, but a few are Dumb and Dumber, Without a Paddle, Hope Floats, The Help, Fried Green Tomatoes, and Top Gun. I am trying to get into reading again, but kind of into classics lately, the last book I read was The Great Gatsby. I love music, terrible with names/songs but driving in my car with whatever on the radio is therapy. All music can be appreciated in the right mood.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I grew up on a farm in small town middle of nowhere Oklahoma. I can drive a tractor, chop wood and ride horses. I loved my childhood but have always had the bug to travel and just now am doing it on my own. I have been to Australia to play basketball just out of highschool, one crazy 3 day weekend in Paris with my dad, 9 days driving through Canada on the Al-Can so I am getting started :) But so much more to do. I can fly a plane and love to bake! Randomness all around. I went skydiving in Hawaii on my 18th birthday, have flown small planes, and a powered parachute (one of my favorites) and driving through Canada alone was one of the best things I have ever done for myself.
Teach, Learn, Share
I love people that can have different ideas but, unless violating a core value, can embrace others ideas and thoughts as well. Wit and charm help a little too :)
