forming relationships all around the world. I have had many wonderful traveling experiences in Europe which offered me the chance to meet new, kind, and wonderful people. Human beings are more decent than life may suggest!!

ABOUT ME

There is a word, German I believe: 'bildungsroman' which means :
n.
A novel whose principal subject is the moral, psychological, and intellectual development of a usually youthful main character.

I have read many such novels and can't help but think of them as I am back packing through Europe at the moment. A most recurrent story has to be that of Somerset Maugham, the English Francophile. I am reminded of his stories of young men finding themselves in love, finding themselves challenged beyond their resources, and then just finding themselves.

I can't say my travels are without the deep inward meanderings of a philosopher. I have this habit of thinking of both my childhood and my future when I run after I train I have missed in a foreign city.

I love playing music but only by myself. Traveling broadens the mind. More on this later.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have surfed abroad only. Many European visitors made my travels abroad more accommodating than I could have imagined. Crashing with people is a perpetual gift because there is nothing as refreshing a new friend.

Hosting really excites me. I find myself planning play-dates and digging up local gems that I don't care enough to visit myself on most days.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

CouchSurfing is only as good as the community that participates. I have found that at the parties here in Long Beach, and through a range of international cities, the CS community continues to surprise me with honest and genuinely caring people. The experience makes you really want to return the favor.

Interests

When I clicked 'yes' to buy my plane ticket online, I'm positive I had some desire for adventure. So there's that. But generally I don't think I'll join a a pub crawl. I most enjoy meeting people and seeing their corner of town, the place they call home and they way they pass their time.
