Well my name's Micah,and I like to travel...like everyone else here. I'm a pretty laid back and free spirited kinda dude and most people say I'm pretty fun! Besides travel, animals and field hockey are the two other big passions in my life. Saving our endangered wildlife and spreading awareness on animals is what I focus on as a career and life goal through a not-for-profit which I founded called Beyond the Backpack. I also play indoor field hockey for the Canadian team.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

There's no better way to experience a place than through a local friend (or soon to be friend!). I've surfed a few times on and off CS, and only had the best experiences. I've also hosted a few of the many travel friends I've made on my journeys and I love showing others my home.

Interests

Beyond the Backpack is a not-for-profit I started which combines two of the big passions of my life, animals and travel. It is what I like to call a way of living company with the main focus being to raise money for various wildlife conservation organizations. But it also creates awareness for us to live in a way which doesn't harm the earth, but rather to create a life which in harmony with the world we live in. I was inspired to do more by my travels and the experiences I've had, and Beyond the Backpack tries to inspire others to travel as much as they can, as far as they can, as often as they can!
