Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'am heading to California soon to make a career as an animator. It took me a few years to get to this point but why not now. I don't usually travel but couch surfing sounds like a interesting way to get to know a place and people than staying in a hotel or AirBnb. I just joined up so I don't have any references or recommendations yet!
