About Me

American who traded in a stable corporate job in exchange for the uncertainty associated with full time travel. Excited to explore strange new places in search of unique memories and lasting friendships from those I meet along the way.

Very laid back dude, open to try/experience pretty much anything. Currently exploring South America.

CURRENT PHILOSOPHY
Collect experiences, not things
Ill-timed farts will always be funny

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to meet new people from different backgrounds. And I like to experience new cities from a local's perspective to get a better feel for the culture of that city.

Eat at that one restaurant you saw in your Lonely Planet guide? Likely going to be solid. Eat at the local restaurant not in guidebooks where you have to pantomime your way through your food order? Those are usually the experiences you don't forget.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: 90's/early 2000's R&B/Hip Hop is my music choice to cut rugs to, but I don't discriminate. I have a concerning obsession with Destiny's Child.

Movies: Soft spot for slap stick comedies (Macgruber may be one of the most underrated comedies of all time).

Books: Getting more into reading lately. Just finished Shantaram which was very inspiring - if an escaped Australian convict can successfully assimilate into Bombay's underground mafia scene, it gives me hope that I'll one day be able to do my laundry on time.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Not yet finished, but I recently quit my job to travel the world!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you the finer arts of crab fishing, describe my downfall as a child chess prodigy, or how to make a proper Hawaiian luau

What I Can Share with Hosts

Good conversation & laughs, positive attitude, and memorable times.

Countries I’ve Visited

Belize, Brazil, Cambodia, Canada, Germany, India, Indonesia, Jamaica, Japan, Laos, Malaysia, Mexico, Norway, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Switzerland, Thailand, Viet Nam
