Hi
I'm Michael from New Zealand. I'm travelling around the globe on a bit of an OE and looking to visit as many interesting places and people as possible and do it on a budget :)
I'm easy going and can have a conversation with anyone about anything.
I'm going to be in the USA for 3 months starting 1st of May 2015 and then off to Tokyo Japan, Thailand and finally London. I'm really looking forward to seeing as much as the US as possible and meet a lot of interesting locals that can give me tips on where to go and what to explore :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I figure that couch surfing is the best way to get around cheaply and meet real locals who can show me the not so touristy attractions. Any the touristy ones too. Also seems like a great way to make great new friends all over the world

Interests

I love anything outdoors. Hiking, biking, surfing, diving an I'm always up to try new things! By night I like to check out the local restaurants and bars and on good night a party's always a great way to have fun!

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to almost every genre and have a lot of favourites. Foo fighters have got to be up there and I love to kick back to some Pink Floyd or Led Zep every now and then. Also been getting into chillstep for some nice background music. As for movies I like the children's animated ones like cars and surfs up haha don't know why!! And I always like a good surfing movie but I almost always enjoy any movie I watch. I'm not a big book reader but I might have to start with all the travelling I plan on doing!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Haha this is a hard to answer question. I think hiking Waikeremoana in New Zealand. It wasn't terribly challenging but the scenery and the views were stunning
