About Me
Married for 6 years to my best friend that I've known for over 26 years now. We share 2 beautiful, precious little girls ages 2 (soon to be 3 October 14th) and the oldest which will turn 5 on Christmas Eve. Retired stay at home dad, my wife has been a full time nurse for nearly 13 years now. We relocated from Florida approximately 2 1/2 years ago to our beautiful log cabin that sits on the side of an Appalachian mountain. We have a 4 bedroom, 2 bath and almost 3000 sqft. Our home is located on a dead end street and is extremely quiet unless it's a cow yelping in the back pasture (totally not our cows) but beautiful to look at. Lol..... We are about 25 miles from the Kentucky and Virginia border. We are also about 2 hours or so from North Carolina, We are an adventurous family who is either on the go or relaxing on the front porch swing with a glass of wine! We do enjoy our Jeep rides with some of the local Jeep clubs that travel all the way to Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, Townsend, etc. My wife only works 3 days one week and 4 days the next, so this allows ALOT of fun time! :) We DO have a lot of pets so non pet lovers need not apply. LOL.... We have 2 small dogs and 1 medium, 3 parakeets that are kept outside of course, 2 elderly ferrets that have their own little home, 2 adult cats and 5 kittens. It's ALOT, I know, but hey, we just can't turn a pet in need away from having love and a home. Not to worry, the cats are kept in a private room and the dogs usually stay out during the day. My wife does have OCD even though she continues to deny it. :) She is a clean freak so she's constantly on the go. So there it is, my short story about me (and my wonderful family).
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I have NO idea how my wife knew about this site but she did enlighten me with some youtube videos. :) I must admit that it certainly does sound interesting so we figured "why not" so were IN! I don't think we could do much traveling because of the little ones for right now except for maybe some local places to us. Hosting would be an awesome experience too, we certainly enjoy helping others. We are definitely open to making some new friends and learning new things.

Music, Movies, and Books
80's, 90's and Pop 2K! We enjoy pretty much anything from oldies to rap to country and blue grass. My wife loves to read on her Kindle, usually some vampire book or 50 shades of gray. I, however, do not enjoy reading unless it's a 4x4 magazine and I'm day dreaming. :) We both enjoy all sorts of movies as well from Transformers to Titanic to Nightmare on Elm street...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
2 deployments to Iraq that allowed me to help protect innocent families and children.
Teach, Learn, Share
We surely have something to teach, learn or share but since we are completely new to this we are not sure what to put down. lol Can definitely share what we know about the local attractions, best restaurants and local hiding spots. Would love to learn about other cultures and teach whatever we can.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Willing to share our home with honest, trustworthy people. We do a lot of home cooking here which could be anything from beans and cornbread to steak. :) If you're not in the mood for home cooking you could try some of the local spots. Nothing like Ma and Pop cooking!
