Overview
About Me
I graduated Cornell 2017 with a double major in economics and politics. After being at home for a few weeks, I realized that I didn't know what I wanted to do with my life. So I did the practical thing, and strapped a backpack on, stuck out my thumb, and decided to start traveling. Maybe I'll learn something about myself.
I started in Minneapolis, went to Chicago and then South, I was heading West with some hope to feel the Pacific ocean on my feet again. But I live for the journey, and when I met some great guys heading East offering friendship and fun, I couldn't say no; I go where the winds take me.
Along the way I want to get to see the different parts of my country, and get to meet its people. I dislike only seeing the touristy things and love when my host and I can go somewhere unique, or do something new.
One of the rules I've set for myself on this journey is to never stay in one place for more than two nights without being asked to stay, because the most exciting thing for me is to get to meet another stranger and learn from them.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
After sleeping in a hostel that turned out to have been condemned for a few months (whoops), the owner told me that hostels were more of a "West coast thing," and that if I wanted to make sure I wasn't sleeping on the ground (more than I have to), I should check out Couchsurfing.
I have a whole laundry list of odd and interesting places I want to see all over the country, and every person I've met along the way has had something new to tell me or to add to that list. So CS helps me accomplish my own goals, while meeting the kind, interesting, compassionate people that give me new ones.

Don't let the "going on a journey to find myself" thing fool you too much, I'm still a complete nerd that loves to play games and goof around.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I went to Portland for a summer on a joke!
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm carrying 11 books with me at the moment (sorry back), and most of them have to do with philosophy or the human mind. I can't say I'm anything close to a teacher, but would love to have a conversation.
Will throw a frisbee around for hours without getting bored, and can help you on your form to throw a sweet forehand (the one your dad didn't do at the park).
I can play the piano (badly) but I've wanted to learn ukeliali since I first heard one.
What I Can Share with Hosts
A year ago a close friend of mine looked at me and said "you really love to laugh, don't you?" and that still makes me happy.
Hitchhiking means meeting a whole bunch of excentric, odd, (sometimes scary,) funny people, and I've got a good bundle of stories of the places I've been and the people I've met there. I also had a real goofy four years in college with some of the funniest, kindest, drunkest people I've ever known, and could tell you stories about our antics for days.
I understand what it means to give up some of your own personal space for another, and will hold it with the greatest regard and care. I am happy to help out around the house and clean up after myself, I don't like feeling like I'm taking advantage of your hospitality!
