Hi, my name is Mike and I just started to travel overseas the last couple of months. I'm originally from San Antonio, TX but I also grew up in Louisiana and Oklahoma. I served in the US Air Force for 10 years working on fighter jets but I got out of the military back in 2013. Over the past 10 years I've lived in Alaska, Las Vegas, UAE, Hawaii and Germany. But I consider Hawaii home since that is where I bought my house. I hate being stuck in one place for to long so that is why I decided to travel overseas as much as I can so that I can learn about new cultures, see the world, give back to the different communities and make a lot of new friends during the process. I have always been a huge fan of hosting friends and family in my home at the different locations that I've lived at. I love being adventurous and finding fun stuff to do especially outdoors.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have only heard great things about Couchsurfing.com and I think it is probably going to be the best way to meet new people and learn about the local culture. I have always been a huge fan of hosting friends and family in my home at the different locations that I've lived at but I am new to staying with a complete stranger so I'm excited to see who all I will meet during my travels.

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to all kinds of different music but I don't really like heavy metal that much. I am really trying to force myself to read more. My favorite movie is Gladiator.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have broken the speed of sound in a F-15 fighter jet twice and I've gone skydiving in Hawaii five times.
