About Me

Hello! My name is Michael and I am currently living in France in the Paris region for a year teaching English to French primary students! This is my second time living in France and the last time I was here I was lucky to spend a week traveling around France and Europe couchsurfing. It was an incredible experience. I stayed with some great people who exchanged dinners, conversations, and their culture with me and I won’t forget that experience anytime soon. This type of experience is why I love traveling: getting to interact with people with new and different perspectives on the world and learning about their culture is something that gets me really excited.

A bit of information about me: I recently graduated from university in the USA where I studied neuroscience and French, I am a musician (I play violin, guitar, and mandolin), I LOVE good food and good wine, beer, and COFFEE, I enjoy spending time just walking around places getting lost and finding cool spots, and I love to hike, run, and bike. I am originally from Vermont, USA, which is a fantastic place to visit, and when I return there eventually, I would love to host some couchsurfers who are interested in seeing all of the natural beauty and tasting all of the delicious local food and drink that my state has to offer!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have had so many great experiences with couchsurfing and when I am traveling I can’t think of a better way to learn about the best places to explore and to eat and drink than by hearing it from the people who live there. For better or for worse, the world is becoming increasingly interconnected, but couchsurfing is a truly good result of that. The ability to exchange cultures and experiences has never been easier and I think if more people were open to it, there would be far fewer problems in the world.
