Über mich
I'm Michael,
I was born and raised in Socal, but joined the Army as a medic 4 years ago. After medical training I was stationed in Oahu, HI where I lived for three years. I got out of the military about seven months ago, and went to SE Asia when I've been up until last week. I arrived in CA for the first time since I joined, and visited some family, and old friends. Sadly since the military kind of sucks at planning they sent all my stuff to Benencia, CA. So now I'm omw there to get some gear then I'm flying to DC to see my GF. I was originally going to stay with a buddy who was in the bay area, but he is currently working in Oregon, and isn't available. I have one other friend attending SFU, but he's studying abroad this semester so I'm hoping I can meet someone nice enough to help out just for a night or two. More stuff about me, I'm a vegitarian and have been for 2+ years, and a pretty decent cook. If you're interested in dinner I can make some traditional Thai dishes I've picked up in my 6 months in SE Asia. I really enjoy photography, but I've only been practicing for about a year. As I said before I was in the Army as a medic, and now that I'm out I will be pursuing a career in the medical field. Seeing as I've missed the beginning of this school year, I'll be taking some refresher course, but picking back up a BIO CHEM major, and hopefully applying to med school in the near future. As for travel, I've hitchhiked across the US from SD to Miami back in 2006. I've backpacked across Central America for about 3 months back in 2010. I was stationed in Korea for 3 months. And most recently spent 6 months traveling Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Laos,Vietnam, Cambodia. Oh also I don't smoke or drink or do drugs. Don't care if you do, just not my thing.
Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin
As I said above and probably in the message I'll send you, much to my dismay the Army sent my household goods to San Francisco instead of San Diego. So I now am on my way there to oversee proper shipping back to SD before I fly out of SF to spend the holidays with my GF in DC. Though my account is relatively new and no activity is noted I've been couchsurfing for a decent amount of my trip across SE Asia. Since my GF is more established though we used her account exclusively. I've met some truly incredible people from this site, and hopefully that trend will continue.
Interessen
Everything in the 'my interests' portion are things that I actively practice or participate in. If you're into any of those things I'd be super down to either practice with you, or teach you if you're not familiar. Side note, I gave my ukulele away in Hawaii l, because it wouldn't fit in my bag, but we can get creative if you so desire.

Musik, Filme und Bücher
Damn that's tough, ummmmmm currently I'm listening to a lot of Pat the Bunny. He's a indie folk punk artist out of Oregon. I listen o everything though from misfits, to Tech N9ne, to Owl City. Really depends on my mood. Movies. I don't really watch many movies, but I really enjoy Game of Thrones, and just finished the first book (I know a little behind). I'm currently reading Clockwork Orange.
Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe
I don't know if I've ever done anything "amazing" but recently I bought a motorcycle in Hanoi, Vietnam with my GF, and drove 2000 miles across Vietnam. Also, For the last few weeks of my trip I lived as a Buddhist monks in a forest temple in Southern Thailand. That was am amazing experience.
Lehren, lernen, teilen
I can teach vegitarian cooking, as well as some traditional dishes I picked up in SE Asia l. I'm qualified to give first responder classes if your interested in that. If you have a ukulele (had to give mine away) I can teach or help with that. I'm native English speaker, and taught English for a month in Thailand, so if you don't know English I can help with that.
