About Me

I am a recent graduate and young professional who is always looking for an adventure. Travel is my passion and my vacations are far from planned out. I like to keep things wild and up in the air so I may enjoy the full experience of every place I visit.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

For me travel is all about the people you meet on the way. Anyone can take a picture of a few sites but those are already on the internet so I feel that is not the reason for me to travel. I go for the culture, the friendships, the laughs and who knows maybe a little romance. I look forward to meeting great people on the way!

Interests

My favorite part of travel is the freedom to discover and experience new interests each and every day. I feel like I grow so much with each new experience that comes my way.

Music, Movies, and Books

Sadly my love of reading books was lost through studying textbooks but someday I hope to rediscover my passion for reading. My movie and music tastes tend to be more alternative and independent but honestly I'm open to anything that brings the feels.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Some of my trips are very spontaneous but Japan was by far the most. Finding out only 3 days prior that my standby flight would be to Japan instead of the Netherlands was a bit of a shock. I was traveling at the time and couldn't exactly prepare for the journey besides booking a last minute capsule hotel in an area of Tokyo I hoped would suit my needs. Soon enough I met some other travelers who wanted to climb Mt. Fuji which was an opportunity I couldn't refuse. Of course I was not prepared either for long hiking or for the cold climates atop Mt. Fuji but I made do with what I had available. I was freezing, exhausted from climbing overnight, my feet were in pain from wearing sneakers, hungry from not having packed a proper meal when finally we reached the summit and watched as the sun was rising. It was the most beautiful sight and instantly all the struggles I went through were forgotten. It taught me to not plan too much while on vacation and just see where it will take you. You never know who you will meet or what opportunity you will discover.

What I Can Share with Hosts

A friendly conversation, a tourist buddy, an adventure companion, a quiet guest, a round of drinks, a lifelong friend. I may be on vacation but I understand you likely will be busy living your life. I'm happy to be around as much or as little as you have time for and do everything in my power to not disturb your life.
