Overview
About Me
Hi! My name is Michael, I’m French and currently living in Paris. I’m a jurist and a law student at Sciences Po Paris, preparing to become a lawyer. Before that I studied law at Sorbonne University. Law is an important part of my life, especially when it comes to justice and protecting people’s rights.
But outside of my studies, I’m someone who is very curious about the world and the people in it.
I’ve been lucky enough to live in different places, including Medellín in Colombia, which was an incredible experience. Living there allowed me to immerse myself in another culture, improve my Spanish and discover a completely different way of living and thinking. Experiences like that are exactly why I love traveling so much.
I would describe myself as a spontaneous, sincere and open-minded person. I really enjoy meeting new people, having good conversations and sharing moments together. For me, traveling is not only about seeing places but about connecting with people and creating real friendships. Over time I’ve met amazing people during my travels, and many of them are still friends today.
I’m also quite engaged in social and human rights issues. I previously worked with the Defender of Rights in France, where I helped examine complaints related to discrimination, violations of rights and unfair treatment by public administrations. I was particularly involved in children’s rights and even participated in school visits to explain their rights to students.
Later, I collaborated with UNICEF France and had the opportunity to participate in discussions at the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva, where I spoke with delegations about international commitments regarding children’s rights. It was a very meaningful experience and something I feel very grateful for.
Aside from law and travel, I have a strong interest in culture. I love ballet, opera, theatre and classical music, but I also enjoy pop music and discovering new artists. I like dancing as well — even if I’m definitely not the best dancer in the world!
I also enjoy cooking (mostly savory dishes), sharing meals with people, and discovering new food. Sport is another important part of my life: I enjoy tennis, golf and going to the gym.
But honestly, what I enjoy the most are the simple moments: good conversations, discovering a city together, sharing a meal, having a glass of wine or a hot chocolate, laughing, exploring, and sometimes going out to enjoy the nightlife.
For me, the best part of traveling will always be the people you meet along the way.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
For me, Couchsurfing is one of the best ways to truly experience a place.
I love meeting new people, sharing experiences, and immersing myself in different cultures and languages. When traveling, I enjoy spending time with locals, learning about their lives and perspectives, and discovering places that tourists might never find.
I’m someone who values authentic connections. I believe the best memories from traveling often come from the people you meet along the way.
Whether it’s exploring a city, cooking together, practicing languages, doing sports, going for coffee, or just having long conversations, I’m always happy to share moments and create meaningful connections.

Music, Movies, and Books
I’m quite open when it comes to music. My tastes range from classical music and opera to pop and contemporary artists. I enjoy discovering new music and exchanging playlists with people I meet.
For movies, I like many genres but particularly dramas, comedies, thrillers and movies inspired by real stories.
Some of my favorite movies include:
The Devil Wears Prada, The Hunger Games series, and The Giver.
I also love reading. One of my favorite books is One Hundred Years of Solitude by Gabriel García Márquez. I also really enjoy the novels of Isabel Allende.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One of the most meaningful experiences of my life was speaking at events related to the United Nations and discussing important issues with international delegations and political leaders.
It required courage, preparation and discipline, but I felt incredibly proud to be able to contribute to discussions that have a real impact on people’s lives.
On a more personal level, I’m also proud of maintaining discipline in my daily life — for example going regularly to the gym and pushing myself to improve and accomplish my goals.
Teach, Learn, Share
I really enjoy sharing experiences, knowledge and small everyday things with the people I meet. For me, Couchsurfing is not only about traveling but about learning from each other.
I would be very happy to share my culture, my language and my experiences. If someone is interested, I can help with French, Spanish or English practice, and I always enjoy cultural exchanges and conversations about society, law, travel or simply life in different countries. I also enjoy cooking for others or cooking together — even if I’m definitely not a professional chef! I mostly cook savory dishes, but I’m always curious to learn new recipes from other cultures.
I also love music, dancing and discovering new artistic expressions, so sharing music or going out to experience the local culture together is something I really enjoy. And if you’re patient enough, maybe we can even try dancing together.
At the same time, I’m always excited to learn from others. I love hearing people’s stories, discovering new perspectives, learning about different cultures, languages and ways of living. Every person has something unique to share, and that’s what makes meeting new people so special.
What I Can Share with Hosts
If you host me, I’ll be happy to share my experiences, stories from my travels, and good conversations.
I enjoy intellectual discussions but also simple moments like cooking together, exploring the city, doing sports, discovering cafés, or having a drink in the evening.
I try to bring positive energy, curiosity and openness wherever I go. My goal when I meet people through Couchsurfing is not only to visit a place but also to create genuine connections and friendships.
