I have been a high school Physical Education teacher in Perth, WA for nearly 6 years and have travelled Australia, Indonesia, Thailand, USA, Canada and Europe during many of my school holiday breaks (we get 12 weeks a year!). I have made many friends during my travels and hope to continue this throughout my years of travelling.

I'm interested in helping other travellers for a couple of days while they are in Perth. At the moment we have a bed and a couch available.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I was introduced to Couch Surfing by a work colleague and when my brother (Tom Guthrie) purchased his first home I encouraged him to join. Look up his Couch Surfing profile. We have met many great people while hosting. Tom has been hosting for around two years and I was living there for one of those years.

I now own my own home which is located 500m away from Tom's and we are more than happy to host others because we have always had such positive experiences before.

Interests

I have played Rugby League quite passionately for my whole life and I have always had a great interest in my personal fitness. I also coach local junior teams and have also coached WA state teams.

I love the beach lifestyle and head there as much as possible. Whether that be for a swim, a surf or a beer. Every long weekend we try to do a road trip down South to Yallingup/Margaret River or up North to Lancelin.

I enjoy heading out for a good time at a pub/bar or nightclub on the weekends. When I go travelling, heading out for a good time is one of the important factors.

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy my music. My taste is quite broad but I listen to Triple J (aussie radio station) so if you know that station then you know what music I'm into. If I'm heading out, then anything with energy is good... Drum and Bass, EDM, Trap.
