I'm an American living in Tirana, Albania for the moment but generally can be found wandering around from location to location and staying in places I find that offer amazing experiences and serve as great jumping off points for the next thing. I've been here about 3 months now and there's still so much to see and do, and always down for going out and connecting with people who pass through for those great experiences.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm couchsurfing because I firstly love to meet new people and network, connect, and share in life with those who can broaden my horizons or open me to something new. Whether that is just a new part of the world I'm not familiar with, their own personal interests as a temporary flatmate, or their own experiences through life, it's all welcomed.

Interests

I'm rather minimalist and everything I own in the world fits within my backpack. It's rather large and cumbersome, but it's what I have! I like to read and keep abreast of world news and interesting topics. I volunteer wherever and however possible, and I enjoy nature/farming and looking forward to WWOOFing on the occasion. My degrees are in politics and I am quite interested also in the empowerment, NGO, and development sectors. I enjoy exploring new things to see and do in the city, going to new venues and finding hidden gems on a quite thin budget. I like live music and events, markets, animals to an extremely large degree, hiking & parks, and movies of almost all stripes.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Moved abroad on a whim, six years ago, and have never looked back regardless of how difficult it has been. The wonderful people I have met in my travels have sustained me and been great additions to my life.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I have a less than usual travel history with relevant experiences attached to them that oftentimes people find enjoyable to listen to or discuss. I like to do dishes or clean up a bit for the people who host me, and I tend to be as easy as possible for everyone involved. I have my own bedroll and sleeping bag and need merely a clean floor and the use of a bathroom!
