About Me

A social introvert, laid back, and like trying new things. I moved out of my family home at age 19 and have moved around since. Have lived in Cornwall for a few months now, and if you're like me and prefer a quiet life rather than the hustle and bustle of the city, then maybe you should come and visit this part of England.

I have a passion for music. I won't lie and say I'm Jimmy Hendrix, but paying guitar has become part of me over the past few years, and at some point, I want to make my own; Not for the money, but just to put a piece of art out there that is mine. I also used to do a lot of photography before I chose to become an engineer rather than a photographer. I loved seeing couples happy on their wedding day and giving them something that will hopefully give them fond memories for their whole lives.

Where I live in Cornwall is the surfing hub of the UK, and I'm trying to get out and surf now that I live here. If you have never surfed, that's something that you must try here.

Despite my height and sharing the same name as a certain famous basketball player, I am hopeless at basketball!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My current mission is to visit every country in Europe by 2027. I don't exactly have the funds for luxurious weeks away at 5 star BnBs, but I don't believe that is necessary for me to accomplish my goal. In a way, I want to prove to myself that I can live alone with a full-time job and still make time to see the world before my body inevitably fails me.

I'm on Couchsurfing to help other people discover the world, to help you see more of the world than you could afford to see if you had to spend money on accommodations. I'm here because, although I want to travel a lot, meeting other travelers is almost as fun as doing it myself!

Music, Movies, and Books

Genres: Indie, Soul, Bedroom Pop
Artists: Mac DeMarco, Jack Johnson
Movies: Perks of Being a Wallflower, The Social Network, Good Will Hunting
Books: I wish I read more to be honest, but I'm just going to say I prefer non-fiction over fiction and let you judge me accordingly!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Cuddled a cheetah in South Africa; yes it was domesticated but that doesn't make it boring! Mountain climbing and waterfall diving in Wales have to be up there too.

Teach, Learn, Share

I don't really know what I'm supposed to write here, but here's a funny fact: It's against the law to hunt Unicorns in the US state of Michigan.

What I Can Share with Hosts

As I mentioned before, I live in the surfing hub of the UK and the beach is only 5 minutes away; I could teach you all of the surfing I know. I also like to get past small talk as soon as possible, so deep chats at 2AM are on the cards if you are interested. I'm a pretty average cook, but I'm still learning, so as long as you're not expecting 5 star food, I am more than happy to cook for you and show you English cuisine if you aren't familiar!
