About Me
MY PHILOSOPHY
I hate walking, I hate cycling, I hate mountains and I also hate the sun, but somebody has to experience all the fun of life. So I just do it.
MY HISTORY
I am a lanscape-gardener and also studied to be a Bachelor of engineering in landscape-architecture.
After all, I somehow less and less agreed with society and therefore decided to search for an alternetive.
I sold everything not so important to me, donated the rest to some friends, invested the money into a backpack and its content and walked southwards.
In 2015 I made my pilgrimage by foot from Erkelenz (close to Cologne) to Santiago de Compostela/Fisterra.
In these 5 months I experienced and learned a lot. Also I met exclusively nice and interesting people.
Right now I stick to our pilgrim-principle nr. 1 "No step back" and just keep on going.
But I'm not that kind of highly religous pilgrim.
More the one quoting Mick Jagger when ever entering a church.
In Octobre 2015 I hitchhiked back to Germany, to stuff all my games into a cycle-trailer and fix everything on my bike.
In 2016 I rode my bike to Budapest and visited the first two pilgrims, with whom I arrived at the End-of-the-World in 2015.
On my way back, I had to realize that returning on the same track you went away feels pretty different in a bad way.
In 2017 I got sick and thought that my wonderful-alternative-life reached its end (due to financial reasons), but I ended up healthier and richer then before.
So in 2018 I decided to see how far I can get with pilgrims-principle Nr.1:
- around the world to arrive where I started
MY FUTURE
Since then I ride around and visit all the friends that helped me on my way.
I seduce new friends to leave their computer and pass some time on boards, cards or dices.
And maybe I can give something back by lending my hands or having nice conversations here and there.
AND THE WHOLE STORY IN GERMAN
MEINE PHILOSOPHIE
MEINE GESCHICHTE
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I actually found out, that surfing on some couches gets me to know more interesting people than sleeping hidden somewhere in the woods.
THE GERMAN PART (JUST BECAUSE I WROTE IT AND DO NOT LIKE TO ERASE LITERATURE)
Interests
I am a passionat society-games-player, because you can spend some time with your friends in a wonderful way without getting into smalltalk.
By the way, my smalltalk-topics are policy-philosophy, music, movies and a little bit literature.
I love the Carnival - costumes, dancing, escalating
Also I play trumpet (much too seldom for my taste) and Blues Harp
- music
Music, Movies, and Books
There's nozhing better than Jazz!
Also I like listening to Queen, David Bowie, Rammstein, Ludwig van Beethoven, Tom Waits, Nick Cave Minimal and TripHop.
On the screen I prefer movies directed by Wes Anderson, Christopher Nolan, Taiki Waititi and Darren Aronofsky.
Books... books?... Oh Yeah! Those collections of papers with stories written inside. I used to read some in the last millenium. I think, I read Francois Lelord, Thomas Harris and Stephen King. Also Narziss und Goldmund (Hesse), Herr Lehmann (Regener), Payback (Schirrmacher) and Krabat (Preussler)
Actually I started to read again, because books do not need to be recharged, so they can entertain me all day long.
Right now I experience the adventures of "Don Quichote de la Mancha"
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
- My Pilgrimage on foot from Erkelenz/Cologne to Santiago de Compostela and Fisterra.
- My delivery of a bottle of liquor from Düsseldorf to a friend of mine in Budapest by bike.
- The second Pilgrimage by bike nearly the same as on foot with a short detour to visit a friend in Barcelona.
- I quitted to be an obedient cog in the capitalistic machinery with the only insurance that nothing is really sure.
- With this "maybe-cocussion" (the doctor wasn't sure) after dancing to drunk, I kept on celebrating the whole week of carnival as the Mad-Hatter
- I managed to find my way to the bed 3 of 6 times while we were partying on the "Oktoberfest"
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach nothing of real importance just some common bullshit - I am a bad teacher.
I am able to learn more than I learned already - I don't even know that I know nothing.
I will share everything I have - I am an anarchist and I don't possess anything.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I could lend mind and hand especially as its about your garden.
Otherwise I just can tell stories about my journey, play some games or give away my crooked life-philosophy.
Mehr passt einfach nicht auf mein Fahrrad.
There's no space for more on my bike.
