About Me
CURRENT MISSION
If you can escape the daily grind for some time, why waste it with with boring stock holiday?
ABOUT ME
Theoretical physicist...
You should have an impression ^^
I'm interested in culture and the way of thinking other people have learned in their upbringing and with their experiences. I'm kind of an anachronist: one of my hobbies is calligraphy -- but on the other hand I'm very interested in how a Computer works and how to program it. And I'm a hitchhiker (for fun -- and always happy to pick someone up when I'm driving)...
PHILOSOPHY
Try to gather as many experiences as possible...
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Thanks to the couchsurfing network I visited my best underground-rock-concert when staying in Rijeka (Croatia) for one night. And even in the last city before the desert in Morocco there were couchsurfers. I had some of my most memorable holiday moments with people I would not have met without CS.
Interests
I want to understand, _exactly_ what's going on in a machine/animal/someone's mind/...
And I'm very playful, especially board- and card games, where you have to think.
Nowadays I'm becoming more and more interested in what other people expect from their lives, how they want to achieve that.

Music, Movies, and Books
All by Terry Pratchett
A Song of Ice and Fire (currently vol 5)
For books, you can actually check out http://www.readgeek.com/user/skunk
Movies: It's hard to find good ones -- the last good one I saw was `Stranger than Fiction'.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I waded through the bluest glacier river I have ever seen on iceland.
I camped in the desert near an oasis, where I could eat fresh dates from a tree.
Teach, Learn, Share
Most of the time I do physics, math and programming, but that probably won't blow your mind. But I could show you, how to build reed pens, mix ink and do calligraphy with it. I've been working in a museum for some years and thus know about some `historical' techniques.
Countries I’ve Visited
China, Iceland, Morocco, United States
Countries I’ve Lived In
