Returned to Canada after ten years abroad to get a Master's degree and drink good beer..

ABOUT ME

Travel/adventure and music are the main priorities. Spend a lot of time listening to music, going to gigs, playing tunes with the odd written piece of music mixed in. Bands I like:

Spent 7 years living in Japan/Korea, did a lot of travelling in Asia - especially Thailand and India. Also did a stint living in Glasgow/Prague so have done quite a bit of Europe. South America is the next big adventure.

Also doing a PhD at the moment in Applied Linguistics. Focus on second language acquisition, language policy and planning, online learning.

I've couch surfed a bit with friends, and roommates of mine have also hosted. Love meeting people from all over.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Couch surfed in Montreal with a friend this summer, was a lot of fun. Also co-hosted some Germans and Austrians with a roommate recently. Had some time off work so was able to show them around the city.

Interests

I follow sports rather closely (Go Chelsea, St. Louis Rams, Washington Wizards, Michigan Wolverines, Chicago Cubs and Calgary Flames)! I also do a lot of photography, especially while travelling.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hampi in India is probably the most amazing place I've visited. Rollicking around on a motorcycle through rock-strewn landscapes exploring thousand year-old temples. Definitely recommended.
